A short post to signpost you to a site for beginners called wpbeginner. It’s a bit advert heavy, but there’s a lot of useful info on there. We’d be interested to know what you think of it, so please leave a comment.
The intrepid SCIP trainers travelled to wildest South Wales last week (18 & 19 July) for the annual WordCamp UK.

WordCamp 09 was a get together of WordPress users, developers, designers, geeks and tech heads. A number of workshops were held across the weekend. These included sessions on SEO, a workshop from Google about how their search engine works with WordPress and a talk from the designer/developer of Stephen Fry’s new WordPress site. There were inspiring talks from Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little, the co-founders of WordPress.
Some people have been having problems spacing lots of thumbnail photos on a page or post.
If you are writing a long post, its a good idea to think about splitting the post into two sections. On your home page or posts page you will see the first few lines of your post followed by a “read the rest of your entry” link
This can be a good idea if you are going to have video or images in a post and you don’t want your posts page to look too cluttered.
To do this click the “insert more” tag. This is on the top row of the formatting tools 12 from the left or 4 from the right.
Of course you must remember to make the first few lines of your post interested so people want to read more.
You can also change the text in the more link. Read this article on the WordPress forum for instructions.
